When it comes to my career path, I would describe my philosophy as taking chances and seizing opportunities. No location or level of difficulty has stopped me from growing as a designer.

I was born in Curaçao, a Dutch Caribbean island. At 18, I moved to Chicago to study at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I started taking advantage of my surrounding opportunities by doing summer fashion internships, gaining an understanding of process and production in the Americas, while completing my Bachelors of Fine Arts degree. After graduating in 2012, I toured the United States to represent SAIC. Opportunity rose for me to move to Sydney in 2013, where I worked for 4 of the biggest fashion events and 2 noted fashion companies. Australia gave me an insight into its own resources as well as its favorable proximity to manufacturing countries in Asia. In 2014, I decided to spend time in New Zealand in order to work for a renowned fashion company. It was amazing to see that no matter the location, you can create products that are being showcased worldwide.

I pick up inspiring designs, colours, thoughts and processes wherever I go and bring them to my next project. Exploring the world has showed me how others think and express themselves.
